Development Engineer - Fuel Injection Systems



This role offers Monday to Friday working pattern - typically 7.30-4.00 and a career opportunity to grow in level of responsibility based in Medway Towns

Working within an established highly skilled team to support design and development activities related to Advanced Pump Development and Production Support for a range of diesel fuel injection pumps. The Development Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager for Light, Medium & Heavy-Duty Common Rail Pump Development.

Responsibilities:


* Design & development of diesel fuel injection systems.
* Devising and executing tests on fuel injection equipment rigs, engines and vehicles to improve technical understanding and give confidence to new design proposals before entering validation phase
* Interpretation of test data using analytical tools and provide synthesis of results
* To prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation for internal and external audiences
* Prepare detailed engineering drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices
* Assist in the preparation and execution of simulation models
* Assessments of designs using established DFMEA methods to develop a robust product
* Definition and execution of test plans to provide feedback to the development process

SKILLS

Experience with high pressure hydraulic and electromechanical systems

Rig test instrumentation and operation including data acquisition and post processing

Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships with product and manufacturing engineering teams, customers, and suppliers

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a suitable engineering discipline

Flexibility to travel internationally

Ideally at least 2 years engineering experience but recent graduates will be considered
