We are resourcing for a Programming/Production Process Engineer for a global manufacturing company in Whitstable. The role will involve leading production machining and duties will include:

The role

* Producing CNC programs for Fanuc controlled multi spindle, multi turret turning machines. Ensuring that set up and cycle times are optimised.
* Support CNC Setters and Operators to prove out programs on the shop floor.
* Analyse production problems, identify and implement engineered solutions to fix root cause.
* Drive quality process control
* Ensuring new and existing products are routed through best cost and quality solution to meet cost targets and implement changed.
* Leading process layout of new product, implementing and monitoring all activity including PFMEAs.
* Lead and measure improvements for cost, quality and delivery
* Developing and maintain the tool library and all documentation. Select, scope, justify and implement new equipment and tooling. Liaise directly with suppliers to support tooling or equipment procurement.
* Update engineering documentation in line with quality management system.
* Support of commodity product and any other process / product transfers.

Role requirements

* Degree / HND level Engineering Qualification
* Manufacturing experience, ideally within a component or assembly industry
* Experience of reading and analysing technical drawings
* Ability to use CAD (Pro-E/Creo or equivalent)
* Lean and continuous improvement skills, including 5S, SMED, OEE
* Data Analysis
* Experience and ability of dealing with day-to-day production issues
* Cost reduction and quality improvements
* Lean implementation
* Set Up Reduction
* New product introduction
* Best cost manufacturing routing
* CNC machining and programming experience on Fanuc controlled multi-axis machines
