Our client, a large, international organisation based in Kent, is looking to attract a Lead Financial Accountant to join their established finance function. This is a permanent opportunity with the business offering agile working with 2/3 days working in the office.
This role would suit a strong and experienced management/financial accountant with managerial experience.
Main responsibilities include
• Day to day management, people development and leadership of the financial accounting function
• Responsible for the key financial processes including general accounting, payroll, treasury and tax with a focus on governance, compliance and risk management.
• Drive best practice, continuous improvement and improve efficiencies through partnership with the business unit, development of people, exploitation of our systems, standardisation and simplification of our processes.
• Oversee key areas of financial accounting including general and asset accounting, treasury and tax.
• Payroll accounting and reporting.
• Maintain the Company’s Fixed Asset Register, including asset capitalization and depreciation in accordance with Company policy.
• Responsible for the reporting of Capital & Reserves and Retained Earnings.
• Management of the intercompany reconciliation and reporting process.
• Management of balance sheet reconciliation, reporting and control process and support to the business unit.
• Preparation of monthly, forecast and budget balance sheets and group reporting including support to the business unit for explanations.
• Taxation reporting for all HRMC activity including VAT, Intrastat, Corporation Tax, transfer pricing, PSA, P11D, PAYE, NI and CIS.
• Filing and posting of all legally required VAT, Corporation Tax and other tax declarations
• Customs and VAT administration.
• Treasury management including regional and group reporting requirements.
• Working capital management, cashflow management and control, forex & hedging requirements.
• Banking relationships and administration
What you will need
• ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified
• Experience in a financial/management accounting role
• Taxation reporting including VAT, Intrastat, Corporation Tax, transfer pricing, PSA, P11D, PAYE, NI and CIS.
• High level of commercial business acumen.
• Excellent at working in a team and developing and sustaining good working relationships.
• Experience in staff management, training and development.
• Ability to present financial information to all levels within the organisation.
• Proactive, well organised and ability to respond to changing business needs.
