Our client is a well-established and progressive insurance company based in the City of London.
They underwrite a range of niche commercial products, managing delegated authority agreements and servicing open market presentations from a network of broker partners.
As a key part of their growth plan, they have an open vacancy for an experienced UK SME commercial underwriter with experience managing delegated schemes.
You will be joining a vibrant and dynamic team who specialise in the effective management of scheme / delegated underwriting relationships. Working as part of the specialist schemes team, you will have ownership of new and existing schemes to maximise opportunities for growth and profitability, working in partnership with Brokers to deliver growth and profitable returns.
* Deliver financial results through effective underwriting of cases, regular schemes reviews, including profitability, loss ratios, analysis of referrals, claims data and sales and retention data.
* Identify and investigate reasons for poorly performing schemes, making recommendations for actions to improve with support of other key stakeholders.
* Contribute to the improvement of profitability by conducting allocated audits and implementing key actions, agreed with Brokers, to improve account performance.
* Ensure all underwriting guides, policy wordings and documentation to be accurate and fit for purpose throughout the lifecycle of the scheme.
* Responsible for ensuring all internal and external compliance measures are met.
Candidates will need to show a proven track record of underwriting commercial risks in the UK market together with solid experience of managing schemes / binding authority agreements.
Degree educated - preferred
ACII or progress towards - preferred
