An exciting role has become available for an individual who is looking to work for a successful family business. This will be a varied role. No two days will be the same and it will provide opportunities to progress in the future as the business grows.
You will be working in a small finance team and supporting the Financial Controller in a variety of different tasks. This role would suit someone who is prepared to role their sleeves up and is used to working in an SME environment.

Main Responsibilities
-Experience of using Sage accounting software
-Manage income and post payments into back-office systems
-Manage the Purchase & Sales Ledgers, including bank and account reconciliations and preparing payment runs
-Run aged debt analysis and conduct credit control
-Produce and submit monthly bus ticket income reports, manage fees, and process monthly payments to clients
-Submit staff wage reports to an external payroll department to strict monthly deadlines, detailing Attachment of Earnings and HMRC submission information
-Assist with workplace pensions, including employee assessments and submissions to the pension provider.
-Manage leave and sick records and respond to maternity/paternity queries
-Manage and reconcile expenditure accounts, e.g., fuel cards, congestion and crossing charges, etc.
-Manage recurring adjustments such as depreciation, accruals, and prepayments
-Assist with the production of year-end accounts and VAT returns
-Identify cost reduction methods and provide proposals to the Financial Controller and Commercial Director
-Assist the Financial Controller with budget and forecasting-related requirements
-Assist the Financial Controller with preparing and presenting management accounts (weekly & monthly)
This is a newly created position and would suit someone who has a minimum of three years` experience in a similar position. No formal accountancy qualification is required however AAT would be advantages.
