Do you have previous experience of working in a financial environment? Are you able to work flexibly under pressure, with minimal supervision, ensuring that you prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines?

If your answers are ‘yes’, an opportunity to join our busy Income Office in Finance on an ongoing part time (17.5 hours per week) basis has arisen.

In the role of Student Accounts Controller you will deal with the collection of the tuition fees due from students and sponsors to aid the cash flows of the University and to reduce the risk of bad debt.

What will you be doing, day to day?

Contacting students and sponsors to arrange payment of outstanding balances
Controlling the allocation of payments from the Student Loans Company and the US Loans Student data ensuring correct representation in the Student database
Providing clerical duties in the Income Office to ensure the smooth running of the department

What are we looking for?

GCSE English and maths (grade C/4 or above), or equivalent
Experience of working in a customer services environment
The ability to display a good level of numeracy with a strong attention to detail
Knowledge of administrative databases
