Work/Job Coach (Supporter)
A range of hours available, Monday to Friday, with the option of fitting around school hours…
Working on a non-exclusive, flexible basis with the potential for permanent hours.
Hourly rate: £11.00 per hour + holiday pay accrual
Locations: North & East Kent, including Swale, Canterbury, Gravesham and Medway. We welcome applications from people who can work in just one area or across all areas. You may support at more than one employer during the day, requiring travel between sites.
What does a Supported Employment Work/Job Coach role entail?
We are striving to raise the aspirations of young people with learning difficulties or autism, together with their families and carers, demonstrating that work is possible and rewarding. A supported internship is about young people with a learning difficulty and/or autism achieving high quality paid work that lasts. We call it a supported internship as we support the young person throughout the internship by providing a Work Coach. As the young person's Work Coach you will work alongside them in their work placement supporting them and their employer to ensure both get the most out of the placement.
We need people who are:

Great organisers and problem-solvers
Able to connect well with young people and employers
Passionate about nurturing the potential of young people
with learning difficulties and/or autism
Calm, confident and adaptable
Committed and reliable
You must be able to draw on your own skills and ability to manage fluctuating emotional support needs of the young person, to maintain a calm, supportive learning and work environment.



Experience of working as a Work/Job Coach and with young people with a learning difficulty and/or autism is desirable, but not essential.

Interviews: Friday 26th August 2022. Location: TBC.
