Financial Controller | Swale – Agile working | Generous basic salary + Car + Bonus

A large, International manufacturing company based in Kent has a vacancy for a seasoned Financial Controller to join them and manage a busy team.

You will take responsibility for the day to day management of financial controls, people development and leadership of the financial processes and systems with a focus on governance, compliance and risk management.

• Preparation of monthly, forecast and budget balance sheets and group reporting including support to the business unit for explanations
Generation of annual financial statements and related reports, liaison with auditors and support of tax audits / other investigations
• Oversee all areas of finance including payroll administration, archiving and related activities including general and asset accounting,
payables and receivables
• Verification and posting all incoming invoices, account reconciliation, dispute resolution and payment to vendors
• Allocation of incoming payments, customer account reconciliation, credit checks and cooperation with the Business Unit customer
service teams
• Ownership of the credit monitoring process, including aged debt and credit exposure control
• Filing and posting all legally required VAT, corporate income tax and other tax declarations
• Filing reports and actions required for compliance with customs and export/import VAT
• Management of relationship with customs and VAT administration
• Liaising with banks in accordance with procedures established by Group Treasury including arrangement and reporting of hedging
contracts
• Reporting funds in cash and at bank and providing cash flow calculations and forecasts
• Payroll administration services including payroll accounting and reporting
• Perform internal audits to evaluate internal controls, corporate governance and accounting processes
• Ownership of process KPI tracking, reporting and improvement

Requirements:
• Professional accounting qualification with at least 5 years post qualified experience in financial accounting role
• High level of commercial business acumen preferably gained in a manufacturing background
• Proven track record in leadership, staff management, training and development
• Excellent interpersonal skills required to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to present financial information to all levels within the organisation
• Proactive well organised style with the ability to respond to changing business needs
