Fire Design Solutions is a successful organisation operating within the UK fire safety industry.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the FDS Group for a Junior IT Support person to assist the Group IT Manager in the daily operation of its in-house IT department. The Junior IT Support role is key to business operation, providing effective daily support to circa 85 members of staff, working across different locations.
The Junior IT Support role consists of a 37.5 hour week, (working hours of 8:30am-5pm or 9am-5:30pm), Monday-Friday. The successful candidate will be primarily located at the company Kent-based headquarters in Greenhithe, offering wide-ranging IT support to on-premise, site, and remote-working staff. Occasional travel to other UK-based company offices will also be required.
Role Responsibilities:
* IT technical support to staff across FDS Group offices, site, and remote workforce
* Manage helpdesk ticketing system and ensure job resolution within approved SLAs
* Setup and install new hardware/software/cabling
* Repair and maintenance of IT equipment and peripherals
* Mobile device support
* Printer administration and troubleshooting
* IT project support
* Provide IT user training & skills development
* Liaison with external manufacturers and service providers
* Other duties as directed by the Group IT Manager or Senior Management
Essential Skills:
* General technical IT knowledge of both software and hardware
* Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a keen eye for detail
* Excellent time-management and prioritisation skills
* Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
Desirable Skills:
* Windows and Linux operating systems
* Microsoft Office
* iOS/Android mobile phones and tablets
* HP/Lenovo equipment
