Management Accountant | Outskirts of Canterbury - Hybrid | £40k - £50k + Study Support

A modern, innovative company based on the outskirts of Canterbury has a requirement for a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. Due to office location it would be recommended you have access to your own transport. The company offer Hybrid working (60% office based and 40% working from home) with flexible start & finish times, completing 39 hours a week.

The purpose of the role is to maintain the financial records of the business and assist the Financial Controller in supporting the wider finance team including preparing weekly and monthly reporting, forecast and budget preparation for 3 of the companies subsidiaries

Your main responsibilities will be:-
• Line management of 2 members of accounts
• Management of accounting activities, including the maintenance of the ledger accounts and financial statements down to transactional level
• Manage relationships with banks, internal and external auditors, etc
• Statutory financial statements and disclosure preparation including management of monthly /year end close processes, management representation and sign off of financial statements
• Communication of results and analysis to management and budget holders
• Provide financial support including cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Ensure systems controls are in place and determines operation's consistency with corporate objectives and standards through various verification methods and procedures
• Prepare and maintain statutory and tax records, returns, reports and other related materials
• Ensure that documentation for all processes across the organisation is reviewed and updated periodically
• Prepare analysis for investment in new equipment or disposition of idle/obsolete equipment
• Oversee inventory counts and be responsible for tracking/valuing all materials, WIP and finished goods

You will have
• Recent experience in a Management Accountant position
• Part Qualified – ACCA, CIMA, ACA
• Strong experience in Debits & Credits
• Intercompany Accounts and variance analysis experience
• Excellent Excel skills – min pivot tables, vlookups, sumif’s – advantage – Macros and SQL
• Excellent communicator and used to dealing with non-financial people
• You will be ambitious, adaptable with a willingness to learn new things
