Group Reinsurance Technician

£40,000 to £60,000 p.a. + benefits package

Hybrid working - a minimum of 2 days per week in the City office



An opportunity to join the ceded reinsurance division of a leading global insurance & reinsurance company who are active in the Lloyds and Company markets.



This is a newly created role within the division. So there is no set blueprint and you will have the scope to evolve the duties and responsibilities overtime and bring your own initiatives and ideas.



The role is hybrid in that it incorporates two distinct disciplines.



1 Part of the role will involve oversight and management of the Group's reinsurance system. (PrimaXL).

* Assist in the design, preparation/enhancement and timely execution of test cases/scripts for UAT and any other adhoc BAU testing as required.
* Raise and retest defects identified during any testing.
* Provide testing support to the rest of the team as required.
* Prepare/maintain process documentation and Desk-top procedures (DTP) and address any other documentation gaps.



1 The other duties will be more aligned to traditional ceded reinsurance technician support or reinsurance technical accounting.

* Review of reinsurance contracts and entry on to internal reinsurance systems, including premium bookings (instalments and premium adjustments).
* Regular review of system reinsurance contract set-up to ensure it meets both the team's requirements (e.g., for recovery calculations) and the Group's requirements for group wide integration.
* Contribute to the Group Ceded Reinsurance team's plans to ensure they are delivered on time.
* Undertake ad-hoc technical reviews and propose solutions in order to identify issues and opportunities and present findings accordingly.
* Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and Divisional Reinsurance teams.



Who will this role suit ? …

Due to the context of the role previous experience working in and a good understanding of reinsurance is important, whether that is inwards or outwards reinsurance from a broker of (re)insurer background. Additionally, this role will suit someone with exposure to and who enjoys systems and testing.
