Are you an employability specialist with excellent knowledge of the graduate labour market and used to working with a diverse client group, supporting individuals into employment?

The Work-Study Scheme at the University of Kent provides training and support to students who are likely to face barriers to obtaining graduate level employment and currently has more than 1,500 participants.

In this role you will work to ensure that students are work ready, confident and able to make the most of any and all opportunities they are offered. Your communication, listening and empathy skills will be key, as will your ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders with whom you will work to develop opportunities for students to gain professional level skills and experiences.

As Employability Adviser you will:

deliver high quality, industry informed workshops to students and graduates, both within the curriculum and on a co-curricular basis, to help with the development of employability skills
support students on a 1-2-1 basis with job applications, interviews, assessment centres and more broadly, job hunting
define, design and deliver projects and activities that support students, particularly those from widening participation backgrounds
manage the employment of students on campus through the Work-Study Scheme
To be successful in this role you will have:

a first degree and/or substantial experience in a similar or related role
experience of working with a diverse client group encompassing a broad age-range and from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
experience of building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help meet strategic goals
the ability to work flexibly and cooperatively within a team
