Do you have a desire to deliver the very best customer service? Would you like to develop your skills within a team which has a direct impact on the university’s ability to successfully recruit undergraduate and post graduate students? If so this opportunity to take part in an apprenticeship programme here at Kent could be ideal.
As an apprentice, you will be provided with the help and support to undertake the Customer Service Specialist Level 3 Apprenticeship standard. It is expected that you will develop your skillset throughout the duration of your apprenticeship and will learn to provide a full range of core administrative processes as well as provide first-line advice on student recruitment policies and procedures, particularly concerning clearing, data protection, contracts, agents and commission. You will develop an understanding of the Higher Education sector, how the University operates and where your role fits in.
You will have knowledge, experience and understanding of student life gained either through working in the HE sector directly or from being a HE student yourself. With a good understanding of key factors affecting international marketing and recruitment, you will also be culturally aware having gained previous experience working or studying in an internationally focussed environment.
As International Enquiries Assistant (Apprentice) you will:
• Comply with all requests from the Apprenticeship provider including completing all assessments/assignments as required, and ensuring availability for all scheduled learning sessions
• Respond to international enquiries emails, phone calls and queries swiftly and accurately in a helpful and constructive manner, using knowledge of policies and procedures
• Actively support the admission of international students by providing exceptional customer service to enquirers and applicants focussing on conversion throughout their recruitment journey
• Provide day to day support for our network of international recruitment agents
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
• GCSE English and Maths grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualification
• Willingness to undertake the Apprenticeship and complete the End Point Assessment required
• An interest in and commitment to a career in HE international recruitment / customer service
• Knowledge of student life and the student experience either gained from working in the HE sector or from being a HE student
• Experience of working as part of a team (this could be in a sporting, educational work or social setting) as well the ability to work on own initiative

Important: To ensure you meet the eligibility requirements for Apprenticeship funding you must not hold a qualification at the same or higher level (level 3 or above) as this apprenticeship in a similar subject (International Recruitment/Customer Service). If you are currently receiving Government funding to undertake a qualification at a Higher Education or Further Education Institution, this must be completed before January 2022 in order to be eligible to apply.
