Job title: Community Area Manager – Mental Health Partnership
Project/Base: Canterbury but required to travel across Kent, Medway and East Sussex
Hours: 37.5 per week
Contract: Fixed term until end June 2023
Salary: £34,500 - £38,091 gross per annum

Overall Purpose

The role will play a key part in the strategic and operational development of our clients service and its community service legacy across Kent, Medway and East Sussex.

The successful candidate will develop the quality and improvement of services, ensuring our client can evidence the impact and effectiveness of services, as well as shaping their offer; the role will ensure the services reflect and are informed by the external landscape, including policy developments and best practice.

You will manage performance and risk related to the contract, ensuring strong and effective relationships with commissioners, and funders as well as health and social care providers and voluntary sector partners.

The role requires highly motivated and strong leadership skills in developing managers of services, ensuring they work effectively and independently, as well as working collaboratively with the senior leadership team and relevant governance structures.

The project is a Community Lottery Fund/European Social Fund (ESF) Building Better Opportunities (BBO) project. It is designed to increase wellbeing, resilience and skills, and to provide a pathway to work, training, volunteering or work-like experiences for people who have mental health issues which are a barrier to them. The project includes partners from the voluntary sector, arts, sports and community groups and is delivered across Kent, Medway and East Sussex.

This role will deliver upon the legacy of the service, creating lasting community wellbeing services, including peer support which cement an appropriate offer in place for the people we support.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Relevant qualification in management at level 5 or above or commitment to work towards this
2. Car user with full driving licence and access to own vehicle (subject to the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995)

EXPERIENCE
3. Significant experience of multi-agency, strategic partnerships
4. Experience of health and social care landscape
5. Significant experience of managing large scale projects or contracts

SKILLS & ABILITIES
6. Skilled communicator, able to give a strategic lead and inspire others
7. Ability to work under pressure
8. Ability to effectively manage performance and quality and assurance processes
9. The ability to identify solutions to problems and implement them
10. The ability to actively drive service development and improvement
11. Ability to make difficult decisions in the interests of the service/charity and to manage change effectively

KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING
12. Knowledge and commitment to client involvement and co-production
13. Excellent understanding of client risk and safeguarding issues, and associated statutory and practice requirements
14. Knowledge and excellent understanding of regulatory data protection, governance and risk management requirements.
