This is an exciting time for HR at Kent, having recently completed a period of transformational change to respond to sector challenges, raise our profile and deliver an ambitious Kent 2025 strategy. We are now looking for a full time HR Coordinator to join our recently created Central Services Human Resources team.

HR is at the heart of everybody's working life at Kent and our recently created roles and structure will only make this stronger. The HR Coordinator is a key member of the Central HR team and will be the first point of contact for all general HR enquiries from both managers and members of staff. You'll provide a full range of HR administration and assistance across all aspects of the employee experience. In addition, you'll provide first line advice on HR policies and procedures, particularly in relation to contracts and contractual entitlements/benefits. This is a generalist role and as such you'll need to be flexible in the tasks which are undertaken as part of your role.

As HR Coordinator you will:

Act as the first point of contact for all employee and line manager enquiries, in person and by email
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of all University conditions of service, contractual entitlements and processes
Lead on all aspects of the on boarding administration process for new starters, ensuring that that all contractual requirements have been met
Take the lead on drafting and dispatching all employee employment contracts and formal correspondence on all HR matters ensuring copies are sent to appropriate colleagues for action

To be successful in this role you will have/be:

recent experience of working within HR
significant experience in a service based environment providing administrative support
high level of attention to detail and fantastic organisational skills
High level of proficiency in the full range of Microsoft Office applications; particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
