HR Advisor

IRO £28000

Canterbury, Kent

Canterbury City Council

Fixed term contract for up to 9 months to cover maternity leave.

*Do you enjoy working with people who see the value in fair and consistent staff management? Our managers do and you’ll be key to helping them to do this.
*Do you want to work with a team who are really ambitious about what can change and be achieved and will open their arms to your expertise and skills?
*Here is an opportunity to make a big difference but still be part of a wider team who will support you and your development.

We are looking for an HR Advisor to join our busy and friendly team. You’ll be working with one client area so that you can build your knowledge and relationships and tailor your service to that workforce and business. You’ll be delivering support, guidance and advice on employee relations matters, recruitment and the application of HR policies and procedures.

If you join our team you will:
~Enjoy a lot of autonomy in the planning of your work and your working time - keeping our customers happy as well, of course.
~Work as a generalist HR professional amongst others and so you’ll learn from and find support from your colleagues and you’ll do the same for them.
~Be proud to be part of a high performing HR team - but don’t worry we all help each other with this.
~Enjoy a varied caseload and workforce.
~Derive job satisfaction through making a difference to our staff by turning your hand to all areas of HR to make that difference.

As the work we deal with is varied and fast-paced you will need to be confident, resilient, experienced and credible. You will be fully supported to grow and develop quickly, and you’ll be managing your own workload, multi-tasking and delivering on the HR agenda.

Please click through to our own advert for further information and to access our online application process.

Finally, some other bits that might tempt you:
~Generous annual leave (23 days plus bank holidays and 3 extra days at Christmas)
~Local government pension scheme
~Reduced cost leisure membership
~Flexible work location - we have offices or you may prefer to work somewhere else and travel in only when our customers need you.
~We are happy to talk flexible working (options could include slight reduction in hours, compressed working and flexible start and finish times).
