We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant who can use their technical knowledge and expertise to keep the University’s buildings in good working condition to ensure the safety of our staff, students and visitors. The successful post holder will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), as well as a broad range of reactive tasks and minor installations of a variety of electrical works.

The successful post holder will be working independently and autonomously on the majority of assigned jobs, with occasional collaborative working.

To be successful in this role you will have:

A full current UK driving licence
Proven experience of undertaking electrical repairs and basic installations in a maintenance environment
NVQ 2 or City and Guilds in relevant trade or equivalent skills obtained through practical work experience
Working knowledge of health and safety procedures in relation to building and maintenance tasks
The ability to remain effective and efficient under pressure, including maintaining professional communication
General basic IT skills
