If you have experience of working with students and an understanding of student misconduct and complaints, coupled with the skills and confidence to represent the University in liaising with the local community, this front-facing role in the University of Kent's Student Services division could be just right for you.

The role will see you working within regulations and procedures to ensure the maintenance of discipline and an environment conducive to academic work and wellbeing; your communication skills, fair and non-judgemental approach and passion for a transformative student experience will therefore be key.

As Student Conduct and Complaints Officer you will:

effectively manage student misconduct and complaints and undertake the related administration
maintain relationships with members of the local community and external organisations, responding to complaints and student safety concerns
ensure the effective maintenance of student discipline and the need to maintain an environment conducive to academic work and wellbeing

To succeed in this role you will have:

experience of working in a higher or further education institution or equivalent, in the capacity of having contact with students and an understanding of student misconduct and complaints
excellent administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
excellent listening, investigatory and problem solving skills
the ability to act with discretion, dealing with difficult and sensitive situations, and to maintain high levels of confidentiality whilst using tact and diplomacy
