We have an exciting career opportunity to join the Marketing, Recruitment and Engagement Team in the Division of Arts and Humanities. Our work spans admissions, student recruitment, marketing, outreach, communications and alumni engagement, and we aim to ensure that prospective students see Kent as their first choice to fulfil their academic and personal potential. This means they get the right information, at the right time and in the right place, through inspiring and engaging communications.

You will draw upon your own knowledge and experience and the expertise and advice of colleagues across the University to design and implement campaigns and support the production of high quality publications and promotional materials.

As Communications Officer, you will:


  • create and disseminate engaging and effective communications for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants, current students, staff and alumni of the Division

  • establish relationships across the Division and the wider University to ensure our communications resonate with our audiences and are both fresh and relevant

  • take a lead role in developing and maintaining websites and social media channels

  • play a key role in producing inspiring copy for undergraduate and postgraduate prospectuses and other recruitment and marketing materials

  • analyse and monitor our communications to ensure they are engaging, informative, and deliver desired outcomes

  • support academic staff in their work with the media, helping maximise press opportunities



To succeed in this role you will have:

  • experience of sourcing and creating inspiring content that motivate audiences to take action and delivers to desired outcomes

  • experience of creating compelling content for use across a wide range of platforms

  • an understanding of email marketing and social media channel management

  • knowledge and understanding of, or a personal interest in, communications in the Higher Education sector
