Porchlight

As part of Porchlight’s employment team, you will help people experiencing poor mental health to find work. We know that gaining employment can play an important part in someone’s mental health recovery. Working with your colleagues and the local NHS community mental health team*, you’ll provide support that allows people to take this important step towards independence.

*These employment adviser roles are part of a national IPS Grow scheme - funded by NHS England to increase the number of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services across secondary mental health services. This funding has enabled a Kent and Medway Individual Placement and Support (IPS) collaborative network of organisations to be set up between Porchlight, Shaw Trust, and Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT).

The role requires:

- Good communication and people skills
- A person-centred approach to helping people: focusing on what they can do, and not their condition
- The ability to build trusting relationships with clients, professionals and employers
- An understanding of mental health conditions and the barriers they can create to gaining employment
- The ability to explore positive solutions which allow people to overcome these barriers

Interview date: 8th October 2021
Contract: Fixed term until 31st October 2022
Working Pattern: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility required
Salary: Following a recent salary review, the salary for this role will increase to £22,095 per annum from 1st November 2021
