If you have experience of coordinating complex projects and can demonstrate strengths in organisation and communication, this part-time role in the School of Arts is an exciting opportunity to support a project investigating the identities of autistic girls through participatory arts.
The role will provide administrative support to the project team with a focus on the programme of arts workshops and online activities in schools, organisation of a large end of project conference planned for September 2021 and co-ordinating public engagement and impact activity. We are looking for applicants that have worked previously with schools and young people and who have experience in event planning and management.

As Project Officer you will:

provide efficient and effective administrative coordination for the project
liaise with partner schools to ensure effective engagement and communication
co-ordinate the final conference, liaising with the conference office and project team to ensure clear communications, efficient management and inclusive practices
oversee project communications and publications and support public engagement and impact

To be successful in this role you will have:

GCSE English and Maths at Grade c/4 or above, and a degree, or the equivalent of both
experience of coordinating the preparation, planning, delivery and evaluation of complex projects
experience of event/conference planning and management
experience of working with schools and young people

The School of Arts offers teaching programmes in the areas of Drama & Theatre, Film, History of Art and Media Studies. It is home to over 700 students and 37 academic staff supported by administrative and technical staff within the Division of Arts & Humanities. 'Playing A/Part' is an interdisciplinary collaboration (drama, media arts, psychology) working with autistic girls (aged 11-18) and women to investigate and document their experiences through improvisatory performance and interactive media.
