HOURLY RATE OF PAY: £9.23 p.h.

HOURS: 34

SHIFT: Three Week Rolling Rota. Early and Late Shifts and One full weekend off in three.

EARLY - 7.30am to 4pm

LATE - 4pm to 10pm

LOCATION: River Drive, Strood.

About the Support Worker Role:

As a Support worker you will help our residents with their day to day lives, encouraging them to live as independently as possible. Providing exceptional person-centred care. Building meaningful relationships with them, their families, and other professionals. Working within either our Residential, Supported Living or Day Services. Having a background in supporting people with Autism in a previous role within a social care environment is desirable, although it is not essential.

We are keen to hear from experienced staff and new to care staff.

A £500 Golden Hello paid to those with EXISTING SPECIALIST EXPERIENCE. To qualify for the golden hello you will need 2plus years care/support experience with autism, learning disabilities or mental health and you will be a confident in lone working with complex and challenging service users and also proficient in medication management. A care certificate is desirable ongoing specialist training will be provided.

We also have opportunities for new support workers committed to developing as specialist support staff to those with autism - full training provided.

TRAINING PROVIDED:

o Online Care Certificate and evidence portfolio (accept transferable evidenced certificate)
o 5 days virtual induction covering autism and care compliance
o 3 days Studio III
o Epilepsy
o First Aid
o On the job observation and assessments


About the Service: River Drive

River Drive is a unique building, it has one specialist supported living establishment upstairs and a residential service downstairs that supports 3 other individuals. 24-hour support is provided for both services.

The individuals supported at River Drive are aged between 35 to 56, who also have other additional needs such as epilepsy and mobility issues. They all enjoy activities such as going out for meals, going for short walks, BBQs and going to the theatre when able too.

Everyone we support is unique and at River Drive and we pride ourselves on treating everyone as an individual.

Tasks / Responsibilities of a Support Worker:

The Support Worker role may include but not be limited to:

o Support individuals within the community in activities such as bike rides, long walks and shopping,
o Uphold their privacy, confidentially and dignity
o Assisting individuals with personal care and hygiene
o Administering medication
o Household management tasks cooking, cleaning etc.
o Handle money to shop, going to the bank etc
o Working with individuals who can display challenging behaviours hurting self or others, running away, throwing things, swearing, shouting.
o Working with and supporting individuals with additional needs, such as epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities.
o To form good working relationships with other members of staff across different services.
o May include lone working
o Ensuring written records are correctly maintained
o Drive an individuals mobility car or service vehicle Manual Licence required (Optional)
