Van Driver - Medical Waste

£9.50 - £11.00 Per Hour

Larkfield, Tonbridge and Malling, Kent

The Best Connection Group Limited

The Best Connection are seeking an experienced van driver who has a keen interest in working on behalf of a medical waste disposal company in Larkfield.

The role itself requires you to collect bins of medical waste from hospitals, dental and doctor surgeries.

When you arrive at your collection destination, you will be required to pull the yellow wheelie bin to your vehicle, place it on your tail lift and safely secure it in your vehicle.

At no stage throughout this process will you come into contact with the contents of the medical waste bin. The bin will remain closed throughout the entire procedure.

Once the bin is securely in place, you will then move onto your next collection destination. In total, your vehicle capacity will allow up to 15 bins. An average day could involve 15 drops, collecting 1 bin from each site.

On other occasions, you may be required to collect 4 bins from one destination, therefore the total amount of delivery destinations will be minimal due to the maximum loading capacity of your vehicle.

Once all collections have been completed, you will then return the bins to the yard. You will be required to remove the bins from your vehicle and a yardman will then take the bins to be disposed of correctly.

You will be expected to commence duties between 07:00-09:00. When you arrive at the site, you will be presented with your collection details for the day.

Please be aware that the clients collection points do involve London hospitals, therefore you may be required to travel into the city.

Please be aware that full training will be given before you commence duties. You will be asked to attend a paid training day, lasting 4-5 hours. Throughout the training day, you will be shown how to safely collect the bins and the necessary procedures in order to adhere to the health and safety requirements.

Candidates must be able to read and understand written and spoken English, as you will be dealing with customers face to face.

Candidates must appreciate that the paperwork side of the role is just as important as the deliveries. You will be fully trained on how to complete paperwork meticulously and correctly, and will be expected to raise any concerns to your supervisor should you require their assistance.

All PPE will be provided to you either by the agency, or at the site directly.
