Outreach Services Manager

We are looking for an Outreach Services Manager who will lead our strategic approach to rough sleeping for Maidstone Borough Council. The role will be pivotal in implementation of our strategic vision including whole system change approach to providing opportunities and support to rough sleepers and homeless individuals.

The post holder will be accountable for the Outreach team, which includes a team leader plus an additional seven Outreach Officers. The post holder must have demonstrable experience of working in a similar support environment and in communicating with a wide audience and have an exceptional communication style, which is persuasive and dynamic in their delivery of ideas.

We are looking for someone who is confident in their ability to create meaningful partnerships, and to think creatively to achieve real and lasting outcomes for those who find themselves homeless. We have a number of new projects on the horizon which need leadership and support to bring to completion and so experience of working within a project management framework is essential.

Some weekends, evenings and early mornings work is required and this may include an out of hour’s rota.

The Council considers that the successful applicant will have access to young people and/or vulnerable adults and it is a requirement under The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 that you hold an enhanced disclosure and barring scheme check. Upon successful appointment, you will be required to provide evidence of an enhanced DBS check if you subscribe to the DBS Update Service or complete the process to obtain a DBS check.
