Business Relationship Officer

£34,804 to £40,322 per annum pro rata

Are you a good communicator who thrives in a target driven environment? The University of Kent currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Relationship professional. This post will be fixed term to 30 April 2021 and 0.6FTE.

You will need to be proactive and persuasive seeking new clients and opportunities, converting interest into funded collaborations. To be selected at shortlisting you will have a proven track record of success in a customer-facing role with the ability to meet and exceed revenue targets. You will be comfortable developing and managing relationships with senior business leaders on the phone and in person and will have excellent communication skills. You will also enjoy working collaboratively to deliver outstanding customer service to clients. In this role you will need to a flexible approach and a willingness to travel for client meetings and events.

You will be expected to identify prospects developing these into a pipeline of funded projects. Income targets are an integral part of this role and the wider business relationship team.

As Business Relationship Officer you will:

- Proactively engage with a range of business sectors to identify opportunities, developing these into a pipeline of income generating projects
- Take forward the development of academic business collaborations with the private, public and third sectors, including Knowledge Exchange (KE) opportunities and expertise
- Undertake targeted research to identify external opportunities that align with the universities expertise, using this knowledge to approach and engage with relevant businesses

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A successful track record of securing income, increasing revenue from existing clients and establishing new partnerships
- Extensive experience of business development gained in a goal focused, target driven environment
- Demonstrable track record over a number of years of identifying prospective business leads and turning these into sales projects
