Demelza Hospice Care for Children

DEMELZA PROVIDES SPECIALIST CARE AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH TERMINAL CONDITIONS AND THEIR LOVED ONES, ACROSS KENT, EAST SUSSEX AND SOUTH EAST LONDON.

We help with every element of life for a child or young person with a terminal condition by providing tailored care. From diagnosis through to end of life and bereavement services, we\'re there for that journey.

As part of the Family Support Team, you will work alongside the Evelina London Children\'s Hospital Palliative Care Team to provide emotional support and advocacy to children, young people and families.

You will have a qualification relevant to child/social care with a proven record of supporting families in the health, educational or social settings and/or family home. You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills, with a high level of organisation and the ability to manage and re-prioritise a changing workload.

You will have significant experience of working with children, young people and families with a clear understanding of the issues they face.

You will have the ability to work flexibly and adaptable, with a tactful approach to problem solving.

A valid driving licence is essential to this role as you will be required to travel through the Demelza region.

The role will involve working 4 days at ELCH and 1 day at Demelza South East London (Eltham).
