Are you an experienced Programmes Manager with the ability to deliver outstanding programmes and manage funders?

Are you an effective communicator and relationship builder with experience of working in partnership with a range of organisations?

Do you have knowledge and understanding of school and education systems to be able to promote parental engagement?

If your answer is ‘Yes’ to all these questions then this could be the role for you.

Parentkind’s goal is to inspire and enable parents to play an active role in their child’s education so every child can thrive. We want more parents to be involved and engaged in their child’s education, and in more ways – both at home and at school. We do this by providing resources and training to support parent participation in education at school and at home as well as being the leading membership organisation for parent teacher associations (PTAs) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Our new Programmes Manager will be passionate about engaging schools to be parent-friendly schools in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, inspiring them to harness the power of parents so they can super charge the education of every child. You will be ready to play a key role in driving forward our programmes linked to our ‘blueprint’ for parent-friendly schools framework, including our government contract in Doncaster, our training portfolio and exciting new programmes such as our audit tool. You will ideally have experience of working in the education system as well as managing multiple projects or programmes.
This important role is perfect for someone looking for a chance to use their skills to maximise their personal and social impact. It will entail relationship building with external stakeholders, report writing and collaboration. Gathering intelligence in specific thematic areas and working closely with partners to enable the growth of our programmes will be an important component of this role. This person will be key to nurturing relationships with external stakeholders including local authorities, education agencies, funders and other charities to widen understanding and to further our support and resources for schools and parents. This brings a complexity that requires a sharp mind and great attention to detail.
This person will need to become an expert in a range of issues affecting parents and will use this knowledge to raise awareness about how our work is making a difference. A thorough understanding of the education sector is key, and a funding background is essential. The ideal person will be highly organised and have had experience of managing multiple projects, cultivating external relationships, adapting to diverse audiences, and will not be flustered by deadlines. You will be somebody who is willing and able to learn quickly, who thrives in a team environment.
You will be flexible in your approach to work and able to cope with a dynamic environment in which priorities can quickly change. You will have a can-do attitude and positive outlook, but also be assertive when you think there is a better way to do something. This role represents a superb opportunity for a proactive and talented person to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation committed to making a difference.
