My client is looking for an experienced Events Manager to their team. Working hours are Monday to Friday 9 - 5.30 as well as working one in three Saturdays. This is a years maternity cover role.

Working from a beautiful location, the Events Manager role is to head up my clients Conference and Events department.

With eight function rooms for conferences, events and weddings, with varying capacity from ten to several hundred, you will be managing a team of Event Coordinators taking responsibility for ensuring the delivery of seamless and thoroughly organised conferences, events and weddings. It is essential that you demonstrate a positive attitude to motivate the team to provide exceptional customer service and encourage the converting of bookings.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinating events in conjunction with clients both verbally and in writing

Completing event administration to a high standard with excellent attention to detail, ensuring clear communication with the operations team

Selling the spaces and facilities effectively

Managing all aspects of events: Receiving, handling and converting wedding, meeting, events and some group enquiries, as well as overseeing the team

Provide weekly updates on confirmed and forecasted revenue in comparison to previous years

Encouraging repeat business as a result of excellent customer service and enquiry handling

Upselling products and services throughout the event process

Assisting with the sales process and providing new ideas to generate revenue in the department

Respond in writing and face to face for guests problems/complaints and is available to solve problems and/or suggest a solution

Providing a high level of customer service and ensuring the same from other employees

Flexibility required for working additional hours and weekends, to meet the business needs

To keep a regular check on the event bills to make sure all charges are correct and issued promptly to receive payment within the time frame

Manage and encourage the team while holding reviews and regular event meetings

Follow all procedures and policies whilst ensuring your team also adhere to these

Ensuring all aspects of each event runs flawlessly, cooperating with the relevant departments to achieve this.

The Ideal person:

Knowledge of sales and generating new business is essential, alongside previous experience in a managerial events role.

You must be passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality to all, while demonstrating an excellent knowledge of the venue packages and food and drink offerings

First class communication skills

Knowledge of Reslynx and Fourth would be beneficial

Happy to work under pressure and to deadlines

Strong attention to detail

Good at meeting deadlines and achieving targets, whilst offering the very highest level of customer service at all times.

Determined and driven to ensure the business and department excels itself.

A team player

Computer literate

Remuneration Package:
