Primary role will be to support the housing Development & Regeneration Team in the Corporate Property & Projects Service for the delivery of the affordable Homes programme for Community and Housing. Within this role the individual will be expected to represent the client in meetings with contractors and have the skills and knowledge to interrogate construction drawings and specifications to guarantee quality and match the expectations of the Housing Service.

The successful individual will also need to contribute to other projects which will require a good knowledge of construction, procurement and Computer aided design.

The Housing Development & Regeneration Team is part of the Corporate Property and Projects Service; a team who deliver construction projects and services within the Council. It is a multidisciplinary team of architectural, surveying and engineering expertise.

Duties will include:

Representing client at contractor meetings
Construction site Inspections to ensure compliance with relevant construction standards
Consultation with agencies and residents
Interrogate valuations and report
Write/edit specifications
Interpreting consultants reports
Draw/edit using computer aided design compliant with relevant construction standards.
To monitor project CDM Health and Safety
regularly reporting progress to manager or client.
