Senior Health and Safety Advisor

South East Water HR Department

South East Water supplies drinking water to 2.1 million customers across Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. Daily, we supply 565 million litres of drinking water along more than 14,000 kilometres of mains to our customers' taps.

We are seeking a driven, hard-working individual to take on this challenging and dynamic role within the Health, Safety and Quality Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Delivery of the Thrive 365! Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy as it applies to Capital Delivery at South East Water.
* Delivery of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing objectives of the Capital Delivery department as set by the Head of Engineering
* Monitoring the health and safety performance of the capital delivery team and contractors; identifying trends in health and safety performance and assisting in solutions to resolve any issues identified.
* Reporting to the management team on health and safety issues as they arise, supporting Project Managers and their teams ensure timely and effective resolution.
* Provision of professional health and safety guidance and assistance to all members of the engineering team
* Regular liaison with both the Head of Health, Safety and Quality and the Head of Engineering to ensure consistency of approach and adherence to South East Water corporate standards.
* Other ad-hoc projects as they arise

A professional health and safety qualification to a minimum of diploma level is essential along with experience of working in construction, preferably within the water industry.



The successful candidate will be able to communicate at all levels of the organisation and influence others. The ability to work independently and deliver against objectives and targets set by the Head of Health, Safety and Quality is essential.
