We have an opening in one of our teams in the Department of Enterprise, Employability and Research Development (EE:RD) fixed term until 31st December 2019 to cover Parental Leave. Canterbury Christ Church University has recently created an integrated Department of Enterprise, Employability and Research Development (EE:RD) with four teams: employment and enterprise; employability and skills; research and innovation funding; and research and enterprise integrity and development. The Department is led by two co- Directors, one with responsibility for Enterprise and Employability (EE) and the other Research Development (RD).

You would join the Research and Enterprise Integrity and Development Office (REIDO) within Research Development. REIDO is responsible for ensuring that Research and Enterprise is of the highest quality and meets all required internal and external standards, including managing the institutional submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF). REIDO leads on development and implementation of the institutional research and enterprise integrity policies, processes and best practice, including research ethics and contracts. It also hosts the institutional Staff Researcher Development Programme and the Early Career Researcher Programme, SPARC. The team comprises a Head, two managers, two academic leads, and one officer.

REIDO work closely with other teams in EE:RD and with internal and external stakeholders to support Research and Enterprise integrity, to deliver the ambitions of the new Strategic Plan for Research and Enterprise. You can read more about this here

The Role

The Research Integrity and Development Officer will be responsible for assisting REIDO with policy, processes and development activities to support integrity and excellence in the delivery of research and enterprise. This will include supporting the submission to the Research Excellence Framework, research ethics, research contracts and the development and implementation of a comprehensive research management System (ResearchSpace).

The Person

You should have up-to-date knowledge of research policy, assessment and best practice. You will be expected to have knowledge of relevant research and enterprise policies and procedures to inform continuous development of University processes and documentation.

You should be able to communicate with a wide range of individuals both internally and externally as required effectively receiving, understanding and conveying complex information. You will be required to organise and plan your own work load subject to competing deadlines and objectives set by the Head of Research Integrity and Development. You should be able to demonstrate a degree of autonomy and sound judgement seeking out appropriate advice and guidance as required. You will be well organised and work with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads. You will be able to work well in a team.
