Safety and Compliance Officer - Part Time

Canterbury Oast Trust takes pride in providing good quality care and support for adults with learning disabilities in small family-style homes. We also own and run the South of England Rare Breed Centre (RBC) which is a busy tourist attraction with more than 130,000 visitors a year.

We are looking to recruit a SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER to ensure that the Trust\'s operations are safe and compliant in the areas of Health and Safety and Data Protection. This is a part-time post of 22.5 hours per week to be worked over three days and is on a twelve month fixed term contract.

Safety and Compliance Officer duties will include:

o Reviewing and monitoring the Trust\'s compliance with current legislation in relation to Health and Safety, Data Protection and Fire Safety
o Being the named person with responsibility for Health and Safety and being the named Data Protection Officer
o Working with the CEO to develop compliance Action Plans
o Working with Senior Managers to identify Health and Safety and data protection training needs
o Reviewing and update relevant policy statements
o Undertaking audits
o Providing advice and guidance to management colleagues
o Managing the Trust\'s data archive


As a Safety and Compliance Officer you will need:

o Experience of delivering health, safety and compliance audits and of providing advice and support to a multi-skilled workforce
o A NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety at Level 3 or equivalent
o An understanding of the application of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and legislation relevant to a social care and visitor attraction business
o Knowledge and understanding of GDPR
o Knowledge of Asbestos Awareness/COSHH assessments
o Experience of Risk Assessments
o A professional approach to dealing with issues and employees


SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER BENEFITS INCLUDE:
