JOB DETAILS

Job Title: English Teacher KS2 Part-time Reports to: Head of English

Location: Hilden Grange School, Tonbridge

JOB PURPOSE
A part-time teacher of English is required at this friendly school with high academic standards. The English Department has a well-established and supportive team and takes an active role in school life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will be expected to:
• Be able to teach across the Prep School year groups from 3-8.
• Be able to teach a programme of study preparing pupils for the Kent Selection Tests and other examinations at 11 and 13.
• Liaise regularly with the Head of Department.
• Be prepared to support the English Department in all the activities offered. The English Department offers a broad programme of events for all pupils which includes regular theatre trips, visiting authors and visits from theatre groups.
• Knowledge of administrating a school library preferable, but not essential.

SKILLS REQUIRED
• Good graduate of English
• Good interpersonal skills/effective communicator
• Be an enthusiastic colleague with a passion for their subject
• Be prepared to enter fully and whole heartedly into the life of the English Department
• Have determination to ensure that every pupil fulfils their potential at whatever level
• Have a strong commitment to effective learning and teaching.
• IT skills

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• A proven track record of teaching English to year groups from 3-8.
