Postal Services

£16,460 to £17,079 per annum pro rata

We are looking for a part time Postal Services Assistant to be part of the team responsible for the efficient management of the postal service for the University of Kent.

You will be responsible for the sorting of the post, and collection and delivery of post and other goods around the Canterbury campus and to other University campuses.

You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week, 4 hours a day, between the hours of 13:00pm - 17:00pm (Flexibility is required to suit the changing needs of the service).


The Person:

To be successful, you will have a good general level of education, to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grade C /Grade 4 or above). You will have experience of driving a van and will therefore need to have a full current UK driving licence.

Estates Department:

The Estates Department provides a number of essential services to the University of Kent and is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the extensive grounds and buildings; the security of students, staff and visitors; transport and travel; a postal service and the telephone exchange as well as the University Design & Print Centre.

It is also responsible for the buildings, new development and construction projects both at Canterbury and at our Medway campus at Chatham Maritime and on the Chatham Historic Dock Yard.
