Analyst Developer

Are you an experienced Analyst with knowledge of admissions and enquiries systems and processes? Are you used to working with relational databases and Tribal SITS and SID systems?

This is a twelve month opportunity within the University of Kent's Admissions Systems Development Team that will see you developing and supporting the admissions and recruitment lifecycle systems and their reporting and interface requirements.

The role will involve using business analysis principles and tools to assess requirements, writing clear and coherent code and making decisions on the best way to deliver the agreed solution. It is essential that you have good knowledge of the relevant technologies and demonstrable diagnostic and proactive problem-solving skills.

As an Analyst Developer you will:
- develop, implement and maintain admissions systems using programming structures and standards including SITS toolsets, SQL, HTML and CSS
- develop and support interface and reporting requirements
- undertake the analysis of user requirements and processes, liaising with key stakeholders
- provide support to system users and take a lead on preparing training documentations and materials.

To be successful in this role you will:
- be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience
- have experience with software development and implementation lifecycle
- have experience of investigating and resolving errors, bugs and other technical issues within large applications
- be able to demonstrate excellent communications skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels

Enrolment Management Services (EMS) is comprised of the Recruitment and Admissions Office, the Partnership Development Office, the Publishing Office and the Scholarships and Foreign Loans Office, and has within its purview all University recruitment, promotional and applicant communications, UK and EU recruitment, outreach and regional partnership development, scholarship and student financial support schemes and admissions activities. The Admissions Systems Development Team sits within EMS to provide appropriate system support, analysis and development of the admissions systems used by academic and professional service staff across the University.
