Information Security Engineer

We are seeking a Information Security Engineer to ensure that our client`s information and information systems are protected from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction, through the implementation of properly managed security solutions, and the continued application of effective security controls. You will play a key role in defining, implementing, maintaining and ensuring the integrity and consistency of end to end information security solutions, and will ensure alignment to the Information Security reference and governance frameworks, enterprise security architecture, relevant regulatory requirements and best practice.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the IT Security Service Desk queue, taking ownership of tickets that are assigned to the Security team and managing through to resolution in line with ITIL, meeting SLA`s and working with the IT team(s) as necessary
- Keeping up to date with threat actors, vectors and vulnerabilities to anticipate security incidents and threats, and working with the security engineers to ensure adequate mitigation is in place.
- Actively promoting information security and good security practices throughout the organisation, further enhancing the security awareness

Technical Skill Set:

- 4 years` experience working in a dedicated technical security role
- 4 years` experience vulnerability scanning and managing remediation including system configuration hardening
- Exposure of regulated environments (Finance or Insurance)
- 2 years` experience reviewing technical designs and solutions to identify security risks and areas for improvement VMware or Hyper-V exposure
- Detailed knowledge of Network Security
- Basic knowledge of PCIDSS
- Basic Knowledge of ISO27001
- Basic knowledge of the ICO, PRA and FCA data security best practices
- Basic knowledge of the UK Data Protection Act/GDPR
- Holding or working towards a professional security qualification such as CISSP
