Betteshanger Sustainable Parks, near Deal in East Kent, is a unique and ambitious project. Led by the Hadlow Group, the scheme is a series of exemplary environmentally sustainable projects, which is being built on the 121 hectare site of the former Betteshanger Colliery. The project will combine sustainable business and commerce; education and sustainable energy; and tourism. It will generate significant private sector investment, thousands of jobs, new education and training opportunities, and offer major strategic growth potential for Kent.
Betteshanger Park, a major international visitor destination, forms a key part of the wider Betteshanger vision. The new £8m Visitor Centre, scheduled to open in 2017, comprises the Kent Mining Museum, green energy centre, cycling, catering, conferencing and retail facilities – all set within an outstanding country park environment.
Betteshanger Business Park will create a new economic hub for East Kent, combining high quality commercial space for industries linked with green technologies, food technology and production, health and wellbeing and life science. This will be supported through a programme of training and formal educational opportunities delivered through the Hadlow Group.
We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Coordinator to lead, coordinate and support the Betteshanger Major Gifts campaign and subsequent revenue campaigns. Working closely with a fundraising consultant and the Campaign Leadership, the Fundraising Coordinator will share responsibility for achieving Betteshanger’s fundraising goals, managing relationships with trusts and foundations, corporate supporters and high net-worth individuals.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar fundraising position, excellent communication skills, including networking, diplomacy, advocacy and persuasion, an understanding of marketing principles and enthusiasm for building internal and external relationships with people who want to support Betteshanger.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Betteshanger team and to play a pivotal role in the development of the project. Based at the Betteshanger site in Deal, Kent, this is a full time position, working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, and there will occasionally be the need to work at the weekend or in the evening.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and to provide proof of their right to work in the UK. Where applicable, a prohibition check will be carried out.
